The fourth episode of the TV drama "Private Banker" starring Toshiaki Karasawa (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm) will be broadcast on January 30th.
Private banker Anno (Karasawa) is asked by Mikoto (Natsuki Mari), the powerful woman in the wealthy Tenmuji family, to prevent her second son, Subaru (Yoshida Uronta), a member of parliament, from causing a scandal.
However, just then, Subaru is seen by a reporter from a weekly magazine giving some of the illicit funds he received from his mentor, the powerful politician Hisamatsu (Masaaki Sakai), to a woman he likes. Panic-stricken, Subaru lies to the reporter, saying that he had given them meal coupons for a restaurant run by the Tenmiyaji Aina Group. This damages the company's image and puts its stock price in danger of plummeting. Mikoto instructs Anno to deal with the situation, risking his job as the Tenmiyaji family's private banker.
Anno suggested to Subaru that he hold a press conference and announce that it was illicit money he received from Hisamatsu. His aim was to divert public attention from the Tenguuji family by exposing the scandal surrounding Hisamatsu, who has an image of being pure and innocent. However, just before the press conference, Subaru was told by Hisamatsu to keep quiet, so he canceled it.
In order to find evidence that Hisamatsu is involved in the illicit funds, Anno investigates Hisamatsu's surroundings with his assistants Kumiko (Suzuki Honami) and Mikoshiba (Uesugi Shuhei), and notices that Hisamatsu is taking a cautious stance toward strengthening regulations on cryptocurrencies.
Meanwhile, it is revealed that the Tenmiyaji Aina Group will be inspected by the National Tax Agency. At Hisamatsu's instigation, the inspection will be stopped if Subaru accepts the condition that only Subaru takes responsibility. The Tenmiyaji family is in dire straits. Anno goes to the place where he had sent Mikoshiba.
At the end of the story, a surprising turn of events awaits as Anno makes an important "confession" in front of the Tenmuji family.
