Model and actress Meru Nukumi appeared on stage with lead actor Abe Hiroshi and others at the Japan premiere of the movie "Showtime Seven" (directed by Watanabe Kazutaka, released on February 7th) held in Tokyo on January 22nd.
When asked about Abe, with whom she co-starred for the first time, Ikumi reflected on the shoot, saying, "Just Abe's presence tightened the set, and there was a lot of tension," and revealed her surprise, saying, "He delivered an incredible amount of lines in one take. There were many scenes with close-ups of Abe, and I was surprised that there was someone who could withstand such close-ups of his face... he was so powerful!" Abe blushed and called out, "Everyone, please check it out."
The film is based on the Korean hit "Terror Live" (directed by Kim Byung-woo). A bomb is planted at a TV station, and former newscaster Shinnosuke Orimoto (played by Abe) is appointed by the perpetrator to negotiate with him. He faces a dangerous live broadcast where one word can mean life or death. Ikumi plays Yuki Chiharu, a new announcer who gets caught up in the incident.
Yoshida Kotaro, Perfume, who will perform the theme song and appear as themselves, and director Watanabe Kazutaka also appeared on stage.
