The 39th episode of the second season of " Rurouni Kenshin : Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story ," a new TV anime based on the popular manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki , entitled " Kyoto Disturbance," entitled "Between Life and Death," will be broadcast on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "Noitamina" and elsewhere on January 23rd.
Kenshin is training to be taught the secret technique. After barely landing a single blow on Hiko Seijuro in a sparring match, Kenshin is taught the great technique of nine simultaneous slashes, the Kuzuryusen. Kenshin sees through Seijuro's lightning-fast sword flashes and masters the Kuzuryusen after just one look. However, the Kuzuryusen was merely a technique that was born during the process of teaching the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu secret technique, Tenshou Ryusen.
"Rurouni Kenshin" is a popular manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1994 to 1999. It depicts Himura Kenshin, who was feared as a Battousai assassin during the late Edo period, as a wanderer who vowed not to kill after the Meiji Restoration, searching for a way to live in a new era. A new chapter, "Rurouni Kenshin : Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story Hokkaido Arc", has been serialized in the monthly manga magazine "Jump SQ." (Shōkyōsha) since 2017. The script for the new anime will be supervised by the original author, Watsuki. The first season aired from July to December 2023.
