It has been announced that model and actor Miona Hori will star in the drama "Joyu Meshi," scheduled to begin streaming in late March. The manga, which is currently being serialized in the manga magazine "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) and is based on an original story by Fujikawa Yotsuba and illustrated by Ueno Nono, has been adapted into a live-action version, with Hori playing the lead role of nationally popular actress Izumi Nadeshiko. The story depicts Izumi Nadeshiko as she incognito spends a blissful "meal" secretly sampling the city's gourmet cuisine.
Hori commented, "I just love eating, so I watch dramas and anime about food almost every day. It was always one of my dreams to one day appear in a production themed around food, so I was very happy when I was cast! Just like the original, I am an actress and I think about food most of the time in my free time. I could relate to the character so I would like to act in my own way. I will actually be visiting the restaurant for filming, so I will do my best to convey the great points of the restaurant and the deliciousness of the food!"
The drama is a joint production between Fuji Television Two and Hikari TV, and of the eight episodes, four will be broadcast and streamed on Fuji Television Two Drama/Anime and FOD, while the other four will be broadcast and streamed on Hikari TV Channel, Hikari TV Video Service, and Lemino.
