"TV Preview Room" is a program where reporters review TV programs of various genres, from dramas to documentaries, variety shows, and anime, before they are broadcast. This time, we are looking at the first episode of the 7th season of "Mr. Housekeeper" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9:00 pm), which aired on January 14th.
This is the latest installment of a thrilling human drama in which TOKIO's Matsuoka Masahiro plays a large, cross-dressing housekeeper named Mitazono Kaoru (nicknamed Mitazono-san), who "sneaks a peek" at the problems in the families he is sent to and solves them one by one.
The role of the new housekeeper, a role previously played by Kawaei Rina and Iitoyo Marie, will be played this season by model and actor Rinka Kumada. She plays Daimon Sakura, who grew up in a police family with her father being a detective and her mother a criminal law lab, and who turns even minor incidents into "incidents" through delusions and imagination. The character is full of comedy and could easily be "annoying," but it seems like a perfect fit for Kumada's cuteness.
The guests in the first episode are Eisaku Yoshida and Miho Nakayama, who passed away suddenly on December 6th last year. The story begins with the reunion of two junior high school classmates played by the two after 35 years. Reiko (Nakayama), a web writer troubled by her cold marriage, and Hachioji (Yoshida), Reiko's "first love," the handsome president of a plumbing repair company. A class reunion is scheduled to be held, and while you might think it will be a sweet love story, the familiar "chaotic" developments of "Mitazono" await.
The plot twists at the end of the series were so clear that it was a great success. This season also seems like it will be easy to enjoy, with each episode being a one-off. And above all, I was touched by Nakayama's acting, who reunites with her first love and regains her excitement. Her bright smile at the end was dazzling. I'm so sorry about her untimely death.
