The program is a new type of movie information program that touches on the movie culture of countries around the world with the theme of "Movies x Travel." In the sixth episode, Nakajima visits Thailand, a country that is garnering attention in the Asian movie world, and visits the film production company "GDH." GDH has produced hit films such as "Bad Genius" and "The Goddess of Mercy," and is known as a pioneer in Thailand's expansion into the world. This time, Nakajima interviewed director Banjong Pisanthanakoon, a founding member of GDH. They discussed the appeal and future of Thai horror movies.
He also visits the world heritage city of Ayutthaya, where he takes photos with the historical pagodas in the background, tastes the dessert "Roti Saimai," and tries riding an elephant for the first time in his life. At Wat Mahabut, where the ghost Naak is enshrined, he learns about a beloved legend of the Thai people, making for a very fulfilling program.
Looking back on the interview, Nakajima commented, "It was interesting to see that both Thailand and Japan have in common the awareness of making movies to reach the world." He also sent a message to viewers, saying, "I also experienced riding an elephant for the first time in my life, so please look forward to seeing that."
◇ Nakajima's full comment is as follows:
--What impressed you about your interview with GDH, the film production company that is taking the Thai film industry by storm?
It was a great experience for me as a Japanese actor to interview GDH, a production company that is currently leading the Thai film industry. It was interesting to see that both Thailand and Japan have in common the awareness of making films to reach the world.
--What impressed you about your interview with director Banjong Pisanthanakool, the hit maker who thrills audiences with his horror comedies?
Director Bang Jong respects Japanese horror movies, and I was very happy to hear about the film "Spirit Photo" that shocked me. One thing I'm worried about is whether there's a ghost in the photo of me and the director (laughs).
-Message for the viewers.
I also experienced riding an elephant for the first time in my life, so please look forward to that!
