The variety show "Mori Kasumi's All Lies TV" (TV Asahi, Wednesday nights at 2:34am), hosted by former TV Tokyo announcer Mori Kasumi, who has been dubbed "Reiwa's Queen of Slyness," aired late at night on December 18th, and featured Mori handing out tissues in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Appearing in Shinjuku with a cardboard box filled with 100 tissues, Mori said with a cool look on his face, "I can do this in my free time, so I do it quite a bit." Mori, who graduated from nearby Tokyo Metropolitan Shinjuku High School, revealed that he chose the familiar location, saying, "I wonder if there are any students from Shinjuku High School there. That's where I went to school. It's a really nice garden. It was on my way to school. I'm very familiar with the flow of people here."
Passersby were surprised by Mori-san and accepted the tissues, but gradually the pace slowed down. Mori then said, "I want to change my strategy and find a way to get more people to take them!" and changed from her jumper into a cute Santa costume, transforming into "Kasumi Santa" and continuing to hand out tissues.
When there were only a few tissues left, a handsome man with a suspicious personality approached her, saying, "I have a job where you can earn more. You're cute, so you can earn 10,000 yen an hour." Mori-san was humble, saying, "No, I'm not that cute," but when the man raised the price to "you're cute, so it starts from 15,000 yen," she seemed to be moved and said, "Well, at least talk to me." It seemed like she went along with it, but then she confronted the security guard, saying, "This guy is a malicious solicitor! He said something like it would start from 15,000 yen."
He then said, "Actually...I help identify and catch bad guys. I heard that Shinjuku has the most crimes, so I've been doing it around here. I think this has helped protect the peace of Shinjuku. Thank you for your hard work!" and left with a refreshing look on his face.
As the title suggests, the show is supposed to be "all lies," but as you watch, you'll find yourself thinking, "Maybe it's true, Kasumi Mori." The show is available for viewing on TVer, ABEMA, TV Asahi Catch Up, and TELASA.
