"Sandwichman & Ashida Mana's Doctor-chan" (TV Asahi, Saturday 6:56 pm) is a three-hour special on December 14th, entitled "Showa Kayo Dream Kohaku Uta Gassen," in which children with knowledge and talents that rival those of adults give entertaining lessons as "Doctor-chans" (teachers). The theme of the three-hour special is "If we were to hold a one-night Kohaku Uta Gassen with singers who were active in the Showa era," and the 14 "Showa-loving Doctor-chans" will announce a lineup that they have carefully considered.
There will be 12 categories, including "The Best First Batter Battle," "The Best Enka Battle," "The Best City Pop Battle," and "The Best Idol Battle," and one artist will be announced from each of the Red and White teams. Goro Noguchi, who will appear as a guest in the studio, is impressed by the selections made by the Hakase-chans, saying, "It gives me goosebumps..." He also gets very excited, saying, "Even though these two songs are from the same Showa era, there is a "time difference" between them. It's interesting that they bring that out together!"
In the "Strongest City Pop Battle," an artist who sang a big hit number was selected as the representative of the White Team. Hakase-chan commented that this song was "one of the top five greatest songs of the Showa era."
In the "Strongest Idol Showdown," the Doctors select a popular female idol who they say "created the image of idols in Japan!" and a male idol who boasts high performance skills. Furthermore, the Doctors interview Noguchi, who took the world by storm as one of the "New Big Three," to find out about the idol situation at the time. When asked, "Were there any tensions between you and your rivals before the awards race?", Noguchi couldn't help but laugh bitterly and say, "That's a difficult question to answer..."
Meanwhile, Haruna Kai (19), a big fan of Noguchi's who goes by the nickname "Dr. Goro Noguchi", was in tears at the thought of performing with her idol. She asked about the veracity of the "legend with the late Hideki Saijo" that has been whispered among fans.
Studio guests include Takashi Fujii and Yusei Yagi from "FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE."
