"Anpan" Episode 102: Viewers react to "Go-chan's Hanten" displayed in Ranko's room

The 102nd episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on August 19th, and viewers reacted to the hanten ( Yuumi Kawai cloth) worn by Ranko (Kawai Yumi), her lover who died in the war, Go (Kanata Hosoda) room.

In episode 102, Ranko rewrites the advertising copy for Kyushu Cotton Center's hit product, flip-flops. She actually puts on the flip-flops and walks around her room muttering, "Summer... this summer..." A Go hanten kimono hangs on the wall of her room.

Ranko submits the rewritten promotional copy and finally gets the go-ahead from Yagi. Then Kasuya (Tanaka Shunsuke) suggests, "Why don't we emphasize this part and add the word 'absolutely'?" However, Ranko replies, "I don't want to use the word 'absolutely'. That word is a no-no."

Afterwards, Yagi made some sharp remarks about Ranko's film reviews, to which she replied, "What about you, Yagi? You always say nihilistic things and don't open up to anyone. You don't even have a family. I don't want to hear about love from someone like that," and then left the company.

That night, Ranko visits the Yanai household and asks Nobu (Imada) and Takashi (Takumi Kitamura), "Why is Yagi like that?" and "Have you been single forever?" When Ranko finds out that Yagi also has a family, she regrets what she said and mutters, "What should I do about my house..."

Later, Ranko apologizes to Yagi. Yagi confesses to Ranko that his wife and child died in an air raid on Fukuoka. Ranko also begins by saying, "There was someone who told me that I would definitely come back alive." When Yagi asks, "Who was that person?" Ranko shakes her head and explains, "That's why I can't use the word 'absolutely'."

Meanwhile, Nobu speculates that Ranko might be in love with Yagi, but Taka replies, "No, I don't think that's the case." Then Ranko appears and declares, "Don't worry. I'll never fall in love in my life." Episode 102 ends with Ranko muttering "customer" and bringing Kentaro (Fumiya Takahashi).
