A Teaser trailer for the theatrical anime "Tabekko Animals THE MOVIE" (directed by Takekiyohito, scheduled for release on May 1, 2025), based on the popular snack "Tabekko Animals" (Ginbis), has been released on YouTube. The trailer depicts the Tabekko Animals, whose only redeeming quality is their cuteness, struggling to save the world from the brink of destruction. The trailer also shows the comical figure of Lion-kun, who tries to face the enemy with Ginbis's long-selling product "asparagus" in his hand, only to be told by the narrator, "That's too short!", and also features the original new character Pegasus-chan.
A teaser visual of Lion-kun, Pegasus-chan and others flying in the air was also released along with the copy, "No weapons, no strategies, no cowardice!"
Tabekko Animals are biscuits shaped like various animals, and have a history of about 46 years since their release in 1978. Based on the theme of "delicious, fun, and learning while eating," the biscuits feature the alphabet for animals. They are sold in over 20 countries around the world, including Japan. In recent years, goods with animal motifs have also become popular.
In the theatrical anime, Tabekko Animals will take on the mission of defeating an enemy plotting to take over the world. The film will be directed by Takeshi Takeuchi ("After School Midnighters") and produced by Marza Animation Planet ("Lupin the Third : The First," "Sonic the Hedgehog," "Captain Harlock," etc.).
