It has been revealed that the omnibus drama "Non-REM no Mado 2025 New Year," written by comedian Bakarhythm and others, will be broadcast on the Nippon Television Network from 10:30 pm on January 5, 2025. "Non-REM no Mado" is a "new sensation short short" drama series, and this is the seventh installment.
"Non-REM Window 2025 New Year" consists of two stories. The first story is "Please follow the car in front." The line "Please follow the car in front" is often heard in detective dramas. What if you were to encounter this situation, which you think is only "in a drama"? Where will the strange tension created by the passenger who "said it" and the taxi driver who "was told" lead? The script was written by Bakarhythm.
The second episode is "Ready, set, fiction!". The protagonist, who was a variety show director, is suddenly falsely accused and sent to a production company. It turns out to be a "fake news company," a production company that specializes in creating news. 90% of the news reported on television and in the media is true, but in fact 10% is fake news created at the direction of the government or sponsors. A mixture of lies and truth, the fake news leads the protagonist in an unexpected direction. The script was written by Takemura Takeshi, who also served as a scriptwriter for variety shows such as "Tamori Club" and "Dareka to Nakai."
Bakarhythm himself appears as a "window guide" during the drama's intermissions. There is also a mysterious exchange between him and a "mysterious woman who never shows her face," played by actress Yuki Saito.
The cast for the two dramas will be announced at a later date.
It has also been decided that all 17 past "Non-REM Dream" episodes will be streamed for free on TVer at once.
◇Comment from Bakarhythm
This time, I was working on "Hot Spot" (on Nippon TV, to be broadcast from January 12, 2025) at the same time (laughs), and on other programs as well (laughs), so I want to be praised for being able to deliver "Non-REM no Mado" on time. And yet it's this high quality!? This entertaining!? I hope the viewers will look forward to it. The story I wrote, "Please Follow the Car in Front of Me," is almost entirely monologue-driven, and it may be the longest I've ever written. I'm good at writing stories that take place inside a car, and I'd say one in three of my stories is about being inside a car, and it's a proven "story inside a car"!
As for the cast, they're so guaranteed to be entertaining that you might think, "Maybe we don't even need a script?" This time, we've spent a lot of money on it because it's being broadcast on New Year's Day! The point is that you can't tell where we've spent money. We've spent money casually so that the viewers can enjoy it, so please look forward to it!
