It has been announced that the spin-off of "Ace of Diamond actII", the second part of Yuji Terajima's popular baseball manga "Ace of Diamond", will begin serialization in the combined 4/5 issue of 2025 of "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), which goes on sale on December 25th. It will be a short, concentrated serialization. It was announced in the combined 2/3 issue of 2025 of the magazine, which goes on sale on December 11th.
The editor in charge commented, "Immediately after the serialization ended in October 2022, Terashima-sensei said that he had always wanted to draw the 'Teito vs. Ukumori' arc. I also wanted to read it as soon as possible, so I'm happy that it has been realized in the form of a short, intensive serialization in 'Weekly Shonen Magazine'! I hope you all enjoy it!"
"Ace of Diamond" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in 2006. The second part, "Ace of Diamond act II," began serialization in the same magazine in 2015, and the final episode aired in October 2022. The story follows the protagonist, Sawamura Eijun, who enrolls in Seidou High School, a prestigious high school baseball team, and aims to reach the top of the national baseball league with Miyuki Kazuya, Furuya Satoru, and Kominato Haruichi.
The TV anime series has also gained popularity, with the first season airing from October 2013 to March 2015, the second season from April 2015 to March 2016, and "act II" from April 2019 to March 2020. The appearance of a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Osaka Ryota as Sawamura Eijun, Sakurai Takahiro as Miyuki Kazuya, Shimazaki Nobunaga as Furuya Akira, and Hanae Natsuki as Kominato Haruichi, also attracted attention.
