Actor Watanabe Eri and ex-husband Tsuchiya Ryota will appear on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast on December 9th at 1pm. Watanabe is the star actress who presides over the theater company "Office 30○". In 1995, Watanabe broke the "no dating" rule within the theater company she created, and married Tsuchiya, who was a newcomer 12 years younger than her.
Tsuchiya, who was always with Watanabe before they got married, says that the initial trigger that led to their marriage was when she witnessed Watanabe's heartbreak and sympathized with the depth of his grief at the time.
They had a big fight at the airport before going to the UK for their honeymoon and at the UK airport, and that's when the thought of "divorce" crossed Watanabe's mind for the first time. Tsuchiya also realized that their personalities were incompatible when they went on honeymoons again and again after that. They got divorced five years ago.
