It has been revealed that "Black Butler: The Green Witch Arc", a sequel to "Black Butler: Boarding School Arc", an anime series based on Yana Toboso's manga, will be broadcast in April 2025. Additional cast members have also been announced, including Rie Kugimiya as Sieglinde Sullivan, the lord of Wolf's Valley (Wolfs Schulte), and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Wolfram, Sullivan's butler. Teaser visuals featuring Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive have also been released.
The announcement was made at the event "Anime 'Black Butler: Boarding School Arc' AFTER the MIDNIGHT TEA PARTY ~A Return to Weston College~" held at the Makuhari International Training Center (Mihama-ku, Chiba City) on December 8th.
Kugimiya commented, "In reality, she is a young girl, but I would like to fully confront the complex background that forced her to grow up. I hope you will all enjoy the role!"
Kobayashi said, "This was the first time I came across the original work in preparation for my role, but it was so interesting that I couldn't stop reading. I'm very happy to be involved in this project. It's a shame that there are so many things I can't say about it without giving away any spoilers, but the Green Witch arc is amazing. Please look forward to it!"
"Black Butler" is a manga that has been serialized in "Monthly G Fantasy" (Square Enix) since September 2006. Set in the prestigious British aristocratic family, the Phantomhive family, the story depicts the exploits of Sebastian, the perfect butler who serves his spoiled 13-year-old master, Ciel.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2008 to March 2009, followed by "Black Butler II" from July to September 2010 and "Black Butler: Book of Circus" from July to September 2014. The movie version, "Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic", was released in January 2017. A live-action movie starring Mizushima Hiro and Gouriki Ayame was also released in 2014. The series has sold over 35 million copies in total.
The new TV anime series "Black Butler: Boarding School Arc", the first in about 10 years, aired from April to June.
