Episode 22 of the TV anime "MF Ghost," based on the "successor" to Shuichi Shigeno's popular manga "Initial D," titled "The Peninsula Opens," will be broadcast late at night on December 8th on TOKYO MX and other channels.
The third MFG race, at The Peninsula Manazuru, is approaching. Kanata has finally installed a turbo in his 86, and is busy making adjustments before the race. Meanwhile, Koi talks to her coworker Kyoko about her relationship with Kanata. As an MFG Angel, will her relationship with Kanata be allowed? Love's conflict continues. Then, as the qualifying begins, MFG drivers take to the track one after another. Kanata feels the pulse of his powered-up 86 as he takes on the new course.
"MF Ghost" began serialization in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) in 2017. Set in Japan in the year 202X, where self-driving cars have become widespread, the MFG car races on public roads are gaining popularity around the world. Kanata Rivington, a graduate of a racing school in the UK, returns to Japan to fulfill a certain goal.
The anime will be directed by Tomohito Naka, known for the "New Theatrical Edition Initial D" series, and produced by Felix Film. Character design will be handled by Naoyuki Onda, known for "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash." The first season aired from October to December 2023. The second season is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other stations.
