The popular drama series "Doctor-X: Surgeon Daimon Michiko", which has been broadcast on TV Asahi since 2012, will reach its conclusion with the release of the movie "Doctor-X: The Movie FINAL" (directed by Tamura Naoki) on December 6th. On the same day, lead actress Yonekura Ryoko will appear live on the station's variety shows "Good! Morning", "Hatori Shinichi Morning Show" and "Oshita Yoko Wide! Scramble" to promote the movie. Also, from 8pm, they will be broadcasting "Doctor-X: Surgeon Daimon Michiko Special" (July 2016), which recorded an average household viewership rating of 22% (according to Video Research, Kanto region).
"Doctor X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon Special" is the only special in the series, and stars Beat Takeshi and Kei Inoo of Hey! Say! JUMP. Set in Kanazawa, Michiko Daimon (Yonekura) gets caught up in a battle between the surgeons and the internists for the top spot in the Japanese medical world, and faces a "life crisis for the surgeon." Takeshi plays Kantaro Kurosu, the director of Cross Medical Center, the top in the field, and Inoo plays the national figure skater Kojiro Himuro.
Yonekura will also appear on "Tetsuko's Room" and "Zawatsuku! Friday" broadcast on the 6th. In addition, Kishibe Ittoku, who plays Kanbara Akira, will also appear on "Jun Walk".
A selection of episodes chosen by cast members and famous "Doctor X" fans is broadcast on weekday afternoons under the title "My Best X" (Kanto local), and on the 6th, the third episode of the first series (2012), chosen by Yonekura, will be aired.
