It has been revealed that actor Isomura Hayato will appear in the drama series "Dare Mita the Peacock Dance?" (TBS, Friday 10pm) starring Hirose Suzu, which will start in January 2025. Isomura will play a weekly magazine reporter in the first TBS drama since "Fukakute mo Hodo ga Aru!", which was broadcast in the same time slot in January this year and became a hot topic.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Asami Rito. It is a human crime suspense story in which the "love and fate" of a parent and child involved in a false accusation case intertwines. On Christmas Eve, a daughter whose father, a former police officer, is murdered approaches the truth of the case using a letter he left behind as a clue. The story progresses as two incidents, the present and the past, are intricately intertwined. Hirose will play the main character, Yamashita Kokoro, while Matsuyama Kenichi will play lawyer Matsukaze Yoshiteru and Lily Franky will play Yamashita Haruo, Kokoro's father and the murdered former police officer.
Isomura will play the role of Kamii Takashi, a reporter for the weekly magazine "Shukan Jidai." Kamii appears in front of Kokoro Mugi immediately after Haruo's murder and relentlessly snoops around her. While he pursues the truth with his provocative words and forceful interviewing methods, he is also an important character who is deeply involved in Kokoro Mugi's fate.
Isomura commented, "As a viewer, I enjoyed reading the script so much that I couldn't stop reading, thinking, 'Was this person who did this...?' and 'What, he's not the culprit...?' I think everyone who watches the show will probably feel the same way. Among the characters, the character I play, Kamii, is a weekly magazine reporter who has been pursuing the main character, played by Hirose Suzu, and her surroundings. He has a strong core, but he also has a mysterious side, so I feel he is like a snake. I'm usually the one being photographed and chased, so the idea of being in that position is very exciting (laughs)."
