A stage greeting to commemorate the screening of the second chapter of the latest installment of the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato," "Yamato Forever REBEL3199," titled "Red Sun's Sortie," was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on November 23rd, with appearances by voice actors Daisuke Ono, who plays the protagonist Susumu Kodai, Makoto Furukawa, who plays Alphonse, and general director Harutoshi Fukui. When Ono revealed that he wasn't recording with Alphonse (Furukawa), Furukawa responded by saying, "I was recording with Yuki (Kuwashima Houko, who plays Mori Yuki)," to which Ono confronted Furukawa, saying, "What do you mean?" Ono joked, "Furukawa and Houko were sitting next to each other in the studio. I was like, "Huh? Fire!" It was exciting because we were far apart, but I hated Furukawa at that time. I used to call him the other guy!" In the film, Yuki uses harsh words against Alphonse, prompting Furukawa to shout, "Watch them talk!"
"3199" reinterprets and reconstructs the original third film, "Yamato Forever," which was released in 1980. Furukawa said, "If you think I'm going to just follow 'Yamato Forever,' it's completely different! I'm creating the role by building it up with little information. I think the key to him is his growth. It's growth that can be taken in both good and bad ways. How will he change? Kodai and Alphonse are a pair. What will happen to their relationship? I hope you enjoy it."
Hatanaka Yu, who plays Domon Ryusuke, and Uemura Yuto, who plays Ageha Takeru, also took to the stage for the greeting, with Nakamura Eriko, who plays Kiryu Mikage, acting as the host.
