A new illustration, "Moon Viewing," has been released to commemorate "Good Couples Day" on November 22nd for the TV anime series "My Happy Marriage," based on the novel by Aoki Akumi from Fujimi L Bunko (KADOKAWA). It depicts Miyo and Kiyoka looking up at the full moon from a veranda. A "Visual Image Video - Moon Viewing," which features a short story written by Aoki to accompany the "Moon Viewing" illustration, has also been released on YouTube. The video features newly recorded voice recordings of Ueda Reina, who plays Miyo, and Ishikawa Kaito, who plays Kiyoka.
To commemorate "Good Couples Day," the original episode "Episode 13," "The Shape of My Happiness," which depicts the aftermath of the first season, was released simultaneously worldwide on Netflix and other platforms. An event in collaboration with shrines and temples, "My Happy Matchmaking," will be held at Shinjuku Shimo-Ochiai Hikawa Shrine (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), Shichisha Shrine (Kita Ward, Tokyo), and Ono Shrine (Tama City, Tokyo) from November 22 to December 1. New designs of goshuin and original goshuin stamp books, which were popular last year, will be available as gifts.
The story is about Saimori Miyo, who was born into a prestigious family but grew up abused by her stepmother and stepsister after her biological mother died, and is ordered to marry Hisado Kiyoka, a young soldier who is rumored to be ruthless and merciless and the head of the prestigious family. The live-action movie starring Meguro Ren of the popular group Snow Man was released in 2023, which also became a hot topic.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2023. The second season will air from January 2025.
