It has been announced that season 2 of the NHK drama series "Fujiko F Fujio SF Short Drama," based on Fujiko F Fujio's manga series "SF Short Story," will be broadcast on NHK's "Yorudara" slot (General TV, Monday to Thursday, 10:45 p.m.) from December 2nd. Season 2 was broadcast on NHK BS Premium in April this year, and will now be broadcast on terrestrial TV.
"I Found the Iron Man," in which an old man becomes the master of a mysterious giant iron man, will be broadcast on December 2nd; "Anno, Very Angry," in which a girl with mysterious powers saves her family from crisis, will be broadcast on December 3rd; "Sacrifice," in which a ronin student is at the mercy of an alien's outrageous demands, will be broadcast on December 4th; and "My Shelter," in which a family-loving man is captured by the fear of nuclear weapons, will be broadcast on December 5th.
"33,000 Square Meters," in which a peculiar man appears before a man who works hard to build his dream home, will be broadcast on December 9th; "Old Man Without a Home" will depict the world seen from heaven after the sudden death of a stubborn old man who has no place in his home; "His Time Machine," the story of a man and his friend who are obsessed with building a time machine, will be broadcast on December 11th; and "The Traveler Returns," depicting a lonely and epic journey to the edge of the universe, will be broadcast on December 12th.
"Fujiko F. Fujio SF Short Drama" was produced to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Fujiko's birth. It will be dramatized by selecting from the more than 110 surreal and tasteful SF short stories that Fujiko wrote as his life's work.
In Season 1, 10 works, including "I, Yuko," "Mephisto's Tragedy," "Retirement," "Parent and Child Exchange," and "Bloody Demon," were made into dramas and aired on NHK BS Premium from April 2023.
