It has been announced that Daisuke Namikawa will be appearing as a voice actor in the TV anime "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (Chi: Chikyu no Undo ni Tsuite)", which is based on the manga by Uoto, which was also selected as the Manga Grand Prize winner of the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. Namikawa will play the young Count Piast, a master of cosmology who appears in episode 7 and devotes his life to proving the perfect geocentric theory. Count Piast is played by Susumu Fukumatsu. A cut from episode 8, "I Must Become Icarus", in which a young Piast appears, has also been released.
The series was serialized in "Weekly Big Comic Spirits" (Shogakukan) from 2020 to 2022. Set in 15th century Europe, it depicts people risking their lives to research the heretical heliocentric theory. The anime will be produced by Madhouse, which also produced "Summer Wars".
The series is currently airing on NHK General TV every Saturday at 11:45 pm. There are 25 episodes in total.
