On November 11, additional cast members for the movie "Showtime Seven" starring actor Abe Hiroshi (directed by Watanabe Kazutaka, scheduled for release on February 7, 2025) were announced, including Ryusei Ryo, Ikumi Meru, Igawa Haruka, and Yoshida Kotaro. Abe will play the main character, Orimoto Shinnosuke, a former popular newscaster. This is Abe's first time playing a newscaster.
The film is based on the Korean hit "Terror Live" starring Ha Jung-woo (directed by Kim Byung-woo), and includes original developments. It is a suspense entertainment film that depicts a life-threatening live broadcast (showtime) that begins with a phone call from a bomber in real time. Orimoto (Abe), a former newscaster who was forced to leave the national news program "Showtime 7" that airs from 7 p.m., was living his days like an empty shell, but was appointed as a negotiator by the perpetrator of the bombing terrorist incident, and began an emergency live broadcast to connect with the perpetrator in an attempt to revive his career... It is revealed that a bomb has also been planted in the studio, and the characters are forced into an extreme situation where every statement they make will determine their life or death.
Ryusei will play Asaka Masaya, the new main anchor of "Showtime 7" after Orimoto stepped down, Ikumi will play Yuki Chiharu, a new announcer who will appear on "Showtime 7" with Asaka, Igawa will play Ito Sakura, a reporter who was Orimoto's old ally and gets closer to the truth of the incident, and Yoshida will play Tokaibayashi Takeshi, a TV station producer who once worked with Orimoto to make "Showtime 7" a popular program.
