It has been announced that the TV Asahi drama series "Muno no Taka" starring the actor Nanao (Fridays at 11:15pm, excluding some regions) has wrapped up. Nanao and Shiono Akihisa, who played her "unusual partner", finished filming in tears.
On the day Nanao and Shiono wrapped up filming, Iura Arata, Kudo Asuka, and Sato Honami, who had already wrapped up, came to congratulate them as a surprise. The three, who visited the set separately, were surprised by the cast, staff, and themselves, saying, "We want to wrap up the filming together" and "We want to celebrate Nanao and Shiono."
When the staff announced that the series was wrapped up, Shiono broke down in tears after sharing a warm hug and handshake with Kudo. "I was blessed with great co-stars and it was a really fun set for 'Muno no Taka.' The story was interesting and it was a hot topic from the first episode, so I'm really glad I found such a wonderful piece of work," she commented. Shiono said she had never cried during filming, but with a crumpled face, she said her own unexpected tears had made her cry "this was the first time I'd cried so much during filming."
Nanao was even more sobbing than Shiono. "The cast and staff were always warm and full of love on set, so I was able to have such a fun time every day," she said, her voice choking up.
She also revealed, "Before I started working on this project, I was going through a period of worry," and continued, "When I heard about 'The Incompetent Hawk,' I felt like I was saved more than anything by Takano Tsumeko. I had been through a difficult time and overcome it, so I felt a kind of 'mission to play Takano.'" She said she has received comments from viewers such as "It gave me energy" and "I didn't want to go to work, but now I feel like going," and said, "I'm glad that the show has been able to make people say things like that. I'm proud to have been able to bring this drama to life together with all the staff and cast. I had so much fun every day, thank you!" She bowed deeply and cried.
The drama is a live-action adaptation of Hanzaki Asami's manga (Kodansha). It is a "relaxed work comedy" that depicts the refreshing way of life of Takano, a new employee who looks competent but is completely incompetent at his job. Episodes 1 to 5 are available for free on TVer.
