It has been announced that the TV anime "Rock is a Lady's Hobby", based on the manga by Fukuda Hiroshi currently being serialized in the manga magazine "Young Animal" (Hakusensha), will be broadcast on 28 TBS affiliated stations from April 2025. It will be broadcast simultaneously nationwide every Thursday from 11:56 pm. The main cast has also been announced, with Sekine Akira playing Suzunomiya Ririsa, a former commoner and former rock girl, and Shimabukuro Miyuri playing Kurogane Otoha, a highly skilled rich drummer who attends the same school as Ririsa. The first teaser visuals and the first promotional video featuring Suzunomiya Ririsa and Kurogane Otoha have also been released. It was also announced that Watada Shinya, who has worked on Aikatsu Stars! The Movie and The Idolmaster Million Live!, will be the director, Yasukawa Shogo, who has worked on Ayashiki Triangle, will be the series composer, Soejima Yasufumi, who has worked on Kishibe Rohan Doesn't Move, will be the visual director, and Miyatani Risa, who served as animation director for the Aikatsu! series, will be in charge of character design. The series will be produced by BN Pictures, which also produces Gintama and Aikatsu!.
