At a festival wrap-up party, Yui (Hashimoto) hears her father Masato's (Kitamura Yukiya) true feelings about Ayumu (Naka Riisa) becoming a gal, and suddenly declares that she's quitting being a gal. The rest of the family is surprised by her decision, but Masato himself is hungover and doesn't remember what he said.
Yui also quits the calligraphy club at high school and devotes her free time to helping with the farm work at home.
"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" about a heroine born in 1989 who, with her "gal spirit" of valuing her individuality at all times, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist.
