A talk event for Too Many Losing Heroines!, a TV anime based on a light novel from Shogakukan Gagaga Bunko (Shogakukan), was held on October 20th as part of the "Eejanaika Toyohashi Festival" in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, where the series is set. Umeda Shuuichirou, who plays Nukumizu Kazuhiko, Tono Hikaru, who plays Yanami Anna, Wakayama Shion, who plays Yakishio Lemon, and Terasawa Momoka, who plays Komari Chinatsu, appeared at Toyohashi City Public Hall and revealed behind-the-scenes details of the recording.

The event began with an address by Asai Yoshitaka, the mayor of the city, before the voice actors took to the stage. Tono suddenly turned the microphone towards the audience and asked, "Hello everyone! Are you cheating?" The audience was confused for a moment before replying, "Yes, you're cheating!!" Umeda wore a T-shirt with the word "COUNTRY" designed on it, which was the grand prize item in the "Buy and Draw! McCain Autumn Thanksgiving Festival" project to celebrate the release of the first volume of the Blu-ray disc and DVD. Tono and Terasawa both wore clothes with four ribbons, reminiscent of the uniforms in the show, and asked, "Is there anything that bothers you?" Umeda didn't notice, and Tono responded with a strong "That's what I mean!".

When the "It's cheating!" scene in episode 5 came up, Tono reflected, "I didn't feel like I'd done it!" and it was just the normal thing to do on set." Wakayama said, "The scenes where each heroine's love was resolved were memorable," and when asked about Komari's halting way of speaking, Terasawa revealed, "I didn't practice too much, and I'm usually the type of person who speaks haltingly, so I made the most of that realism."

When the topic of the NG scenes from the first episode that had been uploaded to YouTube came up, Tono said, "I want to explain the situation!" He said that while he was talking to Osaka Ryota, who played Kusasuke, he could see Uesaka Sumire, who played Amanatsu Konami, sitting in the same booth. "I was holding it in pretty well, but I saw Uesaka trembling and sinking next to me (trying to hold back her laughter), and I thought I couldn't do it anymore and couldn't say my lines. Uesaka realized this early on and apologized, saying, 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry.'"

The dubbing of the BL drama CD that was played in Tsukinoki-senpai's car in episode 10 was recorded by just Osaka, who played Yuki [the attacker], and Shimazaki Nobunaga, who played Hayato [the receiver], and the other cast members had not even seen the script. "I'd like to hear the full version somewhere," everyone said, excitedly.

The "Adult Date Plan Championship in Toyohashi" event was also held. In a contest where each participant had to come up with a date plan with a budget of 10,000 yen, Wakayama proposed a plan to "immediately after lunch, go to Seibundo Bookstore and buy 4,000 yen worth of manga." "You're going on a date while carrying heavy luggage?" he asked.

Tono's plan was to "spend three hours at the Futase River Crossing that appeared in episode 6, go to a bookstore and the city library in the last 30 minutes, and spend the entire remaining 4,000 yen at Yamasa," which was a sloppy time allocation, and Umeda kept making fun of it.

Terazawa proposed an adult date setting "a couple who have been living together in Toyohashi for three years." The plan included a picnic and a movie, while also including places that appeared in the anime, and was praised with almost no comments. Lastly, Umeda proposed a free date plan for a drive date to explore tap water, which was published in "McCain Waterworks Exploration" on the official website. The women were shocked. Terasawa was declared the winner by the applause of the audience, and was awarded a Nonhoi Park Annual Pass as a prize.

Finally, Umeda commented, "It was fun to see everyone's faces and have a good time in Toyohashi, an important place for me. As time passes from recording to broadcast, it becomes more special to me. The original work continues, so I hope you will enjoy it, and I hope it will become a work that everyone will love even after it is broadcast."

Terasawa said, "The first time I spoke in front of everyone was at the advance screening, but today even more people came, and we are very happy. It is my wish, but I hope there will be a second season, and I hope that dream will come true."

Wakayama said, "This was the first event for the four of us to take the stage, but there was no streaming or video recording, so I think we delivered a raw conversation between us (laughs). We always record in such a fun atmosphere and work hard toward the same goal, so I am happy that the work has reached so many people in this way."

Tono said, "Since the anime began airing, I've been receiving warm comments about the series, but seeing people enjoying listening to McCain's story makes me realize that they are really enjoying the anime, and it makes me very happy! Before the anime started, I said that I hoped the series would make people feel nostalgic for Toyohashi and give them a taste of their youth, and I'm grateful that the people of Toyohashi have welcomed me so warmly. I hope that Toyohashi will be enveloped in love along with McCain, so let's all enjoy some delicious chikuwa! (laughs)." The series is a light novel written by Amemori and illustrated by Imigimuru. It also attracted attention when it was selected for the Gagaga Award at the 15th Shogakukan Light Novel Awards. The show depicts a slapstick coming-of-age story featuring loser heroines (McCains) such as the gluttonous childhood friend-type heroine Anna Yanami, the energetic sports-type heroine Lemon Yakishio, and the shy small animal-type heroine Chika Komari. The anime was directed by Shotaro Kitamura and produced by A-1 Pictures. It aired from July to September.
