It has been announced that the match between the Japanese national rugby team and Uruguay in Chambéry, France on November 16th will be broadcast live on WOWOW. Following the already scheduled live broadcast of the matches against France (10th) and England (25th), all three of Japan's matches in November will be available to watch on WOWOW.
Uruguay is ranked 17th in the world (as of October 21st) and will play against Japan (14th) for the sixth time in total. Japan has won four matches against them in the past, and this will be the first match since June 2022.
The matches against France and England will be part of the "Rugby Test Match 2024 Autumn Nations Series," which will feature powerful countries from the northern and southern hemispheres, including Japan. This will be a valuable battle to gain experience for the Japanese national team, which is aiming to reach the top four in the 2027 World Cup, and it will also be a highlight to see them take on the "ultra-fast rugby" that head coach Eddie Jones has set. The match against Uruguay is not included in the Autumn Nations Series.
