A newly drawn collaboration illustration has been released for the "Most Evil Partners Autumn Festival 2024," a collaboration project between the retake and re-dubbing of the animated film "Kitaro: The Birth of Kitaro - The Mystery of GeGeGe," and the film "Venom: The Last Dance." Tohru Yatabe, the character designer for "Kitaro: The Birth of Kitaro - The Mystery of GeGeGe," has drawn the "strongest buddy" from both works.
The visual shows Kitaro's father and Mizuki from "Kitaro: The Birth of Kitaro - The Mystery of GeGeGe" meeting Venom, Eddie Brock from "Venom." Yatabe commented, "I can't believe that Venom and The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe are collaborating! I was surprised when I first heard about it, but when I heard the catchphrase, 'Our Partners Are Not Human,' I thought, 'I see!' Both works are exciting stories of different buddies who rely on each other to save the world, so please enjoy Venom: The Last Dance and The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe (real version) this fall."
The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe is the sixth movie version of the TV anime GeGeGe no Kitaro, based on the manga by the late Shigeru Mizuki, and was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mizuki's birth. Kitaro's father (formerly known as Medama Oyaji) and Mizuki are the main characters, and the story of Kitaro's fathers is told for the first time. It was released on November 17, 2023, and was a hit, grossing over 2.78 billion yen, and was also selected for the Best Animation Award at the 47th Japan Academy Awards. "Kitaro Birth: The Mystery of Gegege - Real Version," which is rated R15+ (not suitable for viewers under 15 years of age) and was made by retaking and re-dubbing 327 cuts from the original film, is currently in theaters.
"Venom: The Last Dance" is the final chapter of the "Venom" series. The existence and mystery of the symbiotes in Venom's home world, which have not been depicted until now, will be revealed. It will be released nationwide on November 1st. Advance screenings will be held on October 25th, 26th, and 27th.
