On October 24th, it was revealed that actor Chihiro Yamamoto will appear in the film "Under Ninja" (directed by Yuichi Fukuda, scheduled for release on January 24th, 2025), which is based on the manga by Kengo Hanazawa. Yamamoto plays the role of Yamada Mizuki, a student at Kodan High School who is the school's Madonna, but has an elusive personality and is a "cunning girl" who toyed with those around her. She revealed, "It was a good memory that I cut my hair by more than 30 centimeters for the role!"
"Under Ninja" is a manga by Hanazawa, who is known for "I Am a Hero" and other works, and has been serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) since July 2018. The story is set in a world where ninjas, who are said to have disappeared after the war, are still active in the present day, and follows the story of a low-ranking ninja, Kuro Kumogakure, who lives a life almost like a NEET, as he throws himself into an important "ninja mission". It has also been broadcast as a TV anime.
In the film, Kento Yamazaki plays the main character Kuro and Hamabe Minami plays the heroine Noguchi Ayaka, and the script was written by director Fukuda, known for "Gintama" and "Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku."
Yamamoto commented with joy, "When I was chosen to appear and when I read the script, I did countless fist pumps. Even now, when I think back on it, my heart beats with excitement." Looking back, she said, "It was my first time working with Fukuda, and from the very first day, it was so much fun... I found myself happy to do anything."
