"Anime 1 Week" brings together the latest anime news from the past week. From October 13th to 19th, news of the special episode of "The Apothecary Diaries" and the start of streaming of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge" attracted attention.
On the 13th, it was revealed that the TV anime "ONE PIECE", based on the popular manga by Eiichiro Oda, will change its broadcast time slot from April 2025. The TV anime of the series began in October 1999, and has been broadcast every Sunday at 9:30 am on Fuji TV since October 2006. The series will enter a "recharging period" from October 20th to March 30th, 2025. During this recharging period, the production team will begin preparations to further improve the quality of the anime, and it will be broadcast in a new regular time slot from April 2025. Details of the new broadcast time slot will be announced at "Jump Festa 2025" to be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City) on December 22nd.
On the 15th, it was announced that Bandai Namco Entertainment will hold the third limited-time opening of the metaverse project "Gundam Metaverse" of the popular anime series "Gundam" from December 5th to 9th. A collaboration with Hatsune Miku will be held, and a metaverse live performance will be held in which Gundam and Hatsune Miku will perform together. Pre-registration is accepted until December 4th.
On the 15th, it was announced that a special program for the TV anime "The Apothecary Diaries" based on the light novel by Hinata Natsu, which was born from the novel posting site "Let's Become a Novelist", entitled "Anime 'The Apothecary Diaries' 1st Anniversary Broadcast & Second Season Information Release Special Program" will be streamed on the TOHO animation channel on YouTube at 8pm on the 22nd. On the 15th, it was revealed that the box office revenue of the movie version of the popular anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM" has exceeded 5.1 billion yen. The film was released on January 26th and had a long run of about four months, earning 4.9 billion yen in box office revenue and attracting over 2.9 million viewers, making it a huge hit. A "limited-time special edition" with updated footage was released on September 20th, and the box office revenue including the special edition exceeded 5.1 billion yen and the number of viewers exceeded 3.05 million.
On the 16th, the original soundtrack for the robot anime "Psycho Armor Gobarian," which aired in 1983, began streaming. This is the first time that the soundtrack for the work has been streamed. Since its release on vinyl, it has not been released on CD, and there has been a desire for a reprint.
On the 17th, it was announced that the new TV anime "Myth of Emotions," the fourth season of the popular anime "Aquarion" series, will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, tvk, BS Asahi, and others from January 2025. On the 17th, Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge, a popular anime from the Gundam series, began streaming worldwide on Netflix. On the 18th, it was revealed that a new PV "Digimon Adventure -BEYOND-" will be produced to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first TV anime "Digimon Adventure" from the popular Digimon series, which includes anime and games. It cuts out a scene leading up to the final episode of the TV anime "Digimon Adventure 02," and features the main character Taichi and friends, who have grown up. The insert song "Brave Heart" plays.
On the 19th, it was announced that "LAZARUS", an original anime directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, known for the anime "Cowboy Bebop", will be broadcast and streamed in 2025. On the 19th, the voice actors for the 12 characters who have been shrunk to tiny sizes in Dragon Ball DAIMA, a completely new series based on the popular Dragon Ball anime series, which is based on the late Akira Toriyama's manga, were announced. In the second episode, which aired on Fuji TV on the 18th, Son Goku and the others were shrunk to tiny sizes as a result of Gomar's plot. Masako Nozawa continues to play the role of the shrunken Son Goku, but the voice actors for Vegeta, Piccolo, and others have been changed.
