It has been announced that DRE Novels' (Drecom) light novel "Eris's Holy Grail" will be adapted into an anime. The suspense fantasy about a "lady" features a plain girl and an unparalleled villain. It has also been announced that voice actress Ichinose Kana will play Constance Grail, a plain and ordinary daughter of a viscount, and Suzushiro Sayumi will play Scarlett Castiel, an unparalleled villain who was executed ten years ago. Ichinose and Suzushiro will be reprising their roles from the drama CD.
The work is a light novel written by Tokiwa Kujira and illustrated by Yuunagi. Connie, a plain and ordinary daughter of a viscount, is saved from a difficult situation caused by the harassment of a spiteful young lady by the ghost of a beautiful woman who suddenly appears and saves her. The ghost is Scarlett Castiel, a duke's daughter who was executed ten years ago and famous for being an unparalleled villain. In return for her help, Connie has to search for the culprit who sent Scarlett to the execution block... This is how the story unfolds. The comic adaptation has also proven popular, with the series having sold over one million copies in total.
Ichinose commented, "As with the drama CD, I will be playing the role of Connie, the main character. Connie may seem quiet at first glance, but how will she succeed in Scarlett's revenge? I hope you will watch to find out. Thank you very much!"
Suzushiro said, "I will continue to play the role of Scarlett Castiel from the drama CD. I will do my best to make sure that the anime conveys the same sense of excitement I felt when reading the original work as the mystery is gradually unraveled, and the charm of the two strong-willed characters, Connie and Scarlett. I hope you will enjoy the anime as well as the original work and comics!!"
Tokiwa, the original author, commented, "I'm probably more surprised than anyone, but this, that, and everything is all thanks to all of you who have continued to support 'Eris's Holy Grail' with hearts bigger than the sea and the sky. It's been many years since the series began online, but I'm still grateful for the kind comments I receive and use them as nourishment for my soul every day. Personally, I feel like I've used up a few decades' worth of good luck, but more than anything, I'm happy to be able to go on a new journey with you all again. Yay!"
Yuunagi, who is in charge of the original illustrations, said, "'Eris's Holy Grail' has been decided to be made into an anime!! Connie, Scarlett, and Randolph will move and talk! This is all thanks to Tokiwa-sensei, who created the work, my editor who has always supported me since the first episode, Momoyama-sensei (Hinase-sensei) and S. Noisugi-sensei, who have elevated it to the best manga, and above all, the support of all the fans who have always supported me. Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy 'Eris's Holy Grail', which will captivate you with sound and video, unlike novels or manga!!"
