The drama series "My Diary" (ABC TV/TV Asahi, Sundays at 10:15pm) starring actor Kiyohara Kaya will begin on October 20th. It is an original work by up-and-coming screenwriter Hyodo Ruri, who made her debut in 2020 with the NHK mini-drama "Job Hunting Diary". Each episode features protagonist Onmura Yuki (Kiyohara), who is in her first year in the workforce, looking back on important memories due to trivial events, nostalgically depicting the college days of five men and women.
Kiyohara's classmates at Tosei University are played by Mikami Ai, who is also making waves in the NHK Taiga drama "To You Who Shines", currently airing, as well as Sano Hayato, Yoshikawa Ai, and Mochizuki Ayumu. This brings together five young, talented actors.
In the first episode...Yuki, a first-year in the workforce, gazes sadly at Tokunaga Hiromi (Sano), who has finished watching a movie and is quiet as he continues to eat cold popcorn. With tears in her eyes, Yuki throws the empty paper box into the trash. She then rereads her diary from when she met Hiromi.
April two years ago. Yuki is a third-year university student and is halfway through his college life, feeling somewhat unsatisfied. He is overcome with vague thoughts about how he can spend his remaining two years without regrets. One day, a male student appears in front of Yuki, engrossed in writing down mathematical formulas under a cherry tree. The two exchange silent glances in the spring breeze. That is how Yuki and Hiromi first met.
The next moment, Hiromi hurries away, leaving his backpack behind. Yuki, who does not even know the name of the owner of the backpack, begins searching for its owner with her classmates Shiraishi Mahiru (Yoshikawa) and Hasegawa Airi (Migami).
Hiromi forgets that his wallet is in his backpack and gets stuck in line at the cafeteria, unable to pay, when he is saved by Wada Toranosuke (Mochizuki), whom he meets for the first time. After learning about the situation, Toranosuke offers to look for Hiromi's backpack, as he has class soon...
