Misako Konno to appear on "Tetsuko's Room" on October 15th

Actor Konno Misako will appear on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday 1:00 pm) to be broadcast on October 15th. She has been addicted to "sumo" since she was a child, and in 2022 she was appointed as a Yokozuna Deliberation Committee member.

This summer, an acquaintance introduced her to watch sumo for the first time in the tamariseki (commonly known as sand). She was concentrating on the match and didn't notice, but her figure was caught on TV broadcast and she was embarrassed by the attention she received on social media. However, she is positive and says she hopes people will know the joy of watching sumo live.

After her husband, a former TV director, retired in 2020, he became the deputy mayor of Himi City, Toyama Prefecture, and they live in two bases, Yokohama and Toyama. The Noto Peninsula earthquake on New Year's Day caused major damage in Himi City, which is at the base of the peninsula, and it made her think again about earthquake preparations such as water outages and preventing furniture from falling over. He has now been living in two locations, Himi and Oita for over four years, and has come across not only the famous crab and winter yellowtail, but also delicacies that can only be tasted locally, such as summer tuna and seasonal flying fish sashimi, and is enjoying his life in two locations more than ever.
