On September 19th, TV Tokyo held a program lineup briefing for October at its headquarters (Minato-ku, Tokyo) and announced that the regular broadcast of the travel variety program "Akiyama Location Map" (11:06-11:55 pm) currently airing on Tuesdays at 11pm will end. It was also announced that a new economics program "LIFE IS MONEY ~Let's look at the world through money~" hosted by former banker and talent Osamu Hayashi will start in the following time slot.
"Akiyama Location Map" began airing last October as TV Tokyo's first regular program to feature Akiyama Ryuji of the comedy trio "Robert." The show featured townspeople writing down "spots they would like Akiyama to visit" in advance, and Akiyama would later visit the spots. The program will be aired irregularly in the primetime slot from now on, with programming manager Hitomi Kudo explaining the intention behind it by saying, "We wanted to try it out in the primetime slot."
Starting in the following time slot, "LIFE IS MONEY - Let's look at the world through the lens of money" is an economics program that focuses on "money" and is brought to you by Hayashi and the station's news department. After three special programs, it has now become a regular program. Programming Director Kudo introduced the program by saying, "TV Tokyo prides itself on its strength in economic reporting. TV Tokyo's news department and Professor Hayashi will team up to explain difficult economic topics in an easy-to-understand way. We want to make this a program that makes people think that economics isn't so difficult." The show will be hosted by the station's announcer, Kakutani Akiko.
The reorganization rate was 10.4% in the golden time slot (7pm-10pm), 7.8% in the prime time slot (7pm-11pm), and 5.0% in the all-day time slot (6am-midnight).
