It has been revealed that Yuta Tamamori of the popular group "Kis-My-Ft2" will star in the ABC TV/TV Asahi drama series "My Fiction" (Sundays at 10:15 PM) starting in July. This will be Tamamori's first leading role in a drama series in about four years since "Inori no Karte" (Nippon TV), and he will play the protagonist who has been forgotten by those close to him.
Masaki Ikawa (played by Tamamori), the protagonist, lives in the peaceful town of Morinuma Nextown. He works as a caregiver at a nursing home and enjoys a happy life with his beloved wife, Mayumi, whom he has been married to for six years, and their pet finch, Piotr. Then, one day, Ikawa is involved in a fall and falls into a coma. A week later, he wakes up and returns home to find someone else living there, impersonating him. Furthermore, it seems that neither his colleagues nor even his wife, Mayumi, remember Ikawa... This is a suspenseful love story.
The script is written by Junpei Yamaoka, known for "Tokuso9 Series" and "Private Banker" (both on TV Asahi), and directed by Yoshifumi Udo, known for the film "The Actress Doesn't Cry," among others. It will air every Sunday at 10:15 p.m. starting July 5th.
◇Comment from Yuta Tamamori
After reading the script, my first thought was that I was excited. It's a difficult story to understand after just one reading, but I think I'll enjoy it even more once I do understand it, and I was thrilled to see what it would look like on screen. Through this work, I realized that love comes in many forms, and that the ways in which it's expressed and received are all different, which is both a good thing and a difficult thing. It made me think about how truly fascinating human beings are, and it gave me a grand perspective. I'm determined to create something great, and I'm looking forward to the day when I can share it with everyone.
I think this film, "My Fiction," will evoke many different feelings in different viewers, and it also contains strong suspense elements, so I hope you'll enjoy it in various ways.
