Infinite has released the anime "Noto Peninsula Reconstruction Support Project" on YouTube in hopes of recovery from the Noto Peninsula earthquake. It consists of two parts, "Wajima Arc" and "Nanao Arc," and profits from the videos will be donated to the reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula. The anime is directed by Kyohei Yamamoto, who is also in charge of storyboards and character design. Voice actors include Reina Ueda as Wakura Yuki, Marika Kono as Kashima Tsumugi, and Mamiko Noto as Wakura Yoko.
The story of "Wajima" is about high school student Wakura Yuki, who left her hometown of Wajima to live in Nanao after the Noto Peninsula earthquake, and returns to Wajima for the first time in a long while to see her friend Kashima Tsumugi on the Noto Railway... In "Nanao," Tsumugi comes from Wajima to visit a festival in Nanao, where Yuki lives.
Takayuki Nagatani of Infinite, who planned and produced the project, said of the project, "We would like to express our condolences to all those affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024. The scenery of Ishikawa Prefecture that we depicted in Infinite's first work, Hanasaku Iroha, will never fade over time. However, that scenery changed dramatically due to the earthquake, and reconstruction is still only half-way complete. This time, with the support of many people, our company has produced two animated films as part of the Noto Peninsula Reconstruction Support Project, hoping to repay, even a little, the kindness shown to us by the people of the Noto Peninsula through animation. In producing these videos, we listened to the various opinions of local residents, and we will continue to cooperate with reconstruction efforts more than ever before."
