The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM), which will air from November 10th to 14th, has been announced. The show will feature actor Baku Owada on the 10th, actor Hitomi Nakahara on the 11th, actor Soga Ogura on the 12th, a memorial special on the 13th, and entertainer Yoshizumi Ishihara on the 14th.
One year after the death of his wife, Kumiko Okae, Owada's mother passed away at the age of 98. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was difficult for him to visit her, but when he did go to see her just before she passed away, she mustered her last bit of strength and left him with some words.
Nakahara is 89 years old. She lost her husband, Shinjiro Ehara, three years ago and now lives alone in the same apartment building as her daughter and her family. She takes care of her health so as not to cause trouble for her daughter, cherishes time with friends, and enjoys playing healthy mahjong.
Ogura is 74 years old. Having recently overcome six bouts of cancer, he decided to make a fresh start and change his stage name from "Ichiro" to "Aoka," the pen name he uses for his haiku hobby. He says he is blessed with five children and four grandchildren and is living a happy life.
The special memorial feature for those who passed away in the first half of this year will feature presenter Mino Monta, who confessed that he felt lonely on the seventh anniversary of his beloved wife's death; actor Shimojyo Atom, whose father is the famous actor Shimojyo Masami; film director Shinoda Masahiro, who told his wife, actor Iwashita Shima, that she did not need to do any housework at the beginning of their marriage so that she could concentrate on her work; and jazz singer Martha Miyake, who was a representative of the Showa era.
Ishihara talks about his uncle, actor Yujiro, who passed away 38 years ago, and his wife Makiko, who continued to support him. His older brother and two younger brothers appear in the studio, and just as everyone bursts into laughter at the sight of the four of them sitting crammed together on the sofa, the music signaling the end plays.
