As part of the 20th anniversary project for the popular anime "Eureka Seven," comments were provided by a distinguished staff including main mechanic designer Shoji Kawamori.
The Eureka Seven" is about Renton, who loses his heroic father, Adrock, and is then confronted by the LFO (a collective term for giant humanoid robots) Nirvash and Eureka, a girl from the anti-government organization Gekkostate, who becomes embroiled in a battle... The TV anime aired from 2005 to 2006. The "Eureka Seven Seven 20th Anniversary Exhibition" will be held from December 12th to January 4th, 2026, in the event space on the 8th floor of Yurakucho Marui (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary! When we first met, the idea of a floating ship in the sky on Trapar came to mind, and it gave me the idea of a humanoid robot riding the waves of Trapar on a surfboard and soaring through the air. The stylish yet somewhat nostalgic feel of the work was also very appealing.

Taking on Eureka Seven It's been over 20 years since I was invited by Bones, but after my mother died from a cerebral hemorrhage, I was hospitalized on May 4th with the same illness, and that's a painful memory. The meetings with the genius director Kyoda before and after that are still fresh in my memory. I was asked to create images of the "Scab Land" and the "10,000-meter Tower," and I proposed incorporating the reef-building coral of the Great Barrier Reef into the land and the gigantic cumulonimbus cloud into the giant tower, and it remains a proud memory for me to have been able to meet Director Kyoda's expectations.

Congratulations on the 20th anniversary of the broadcast of "Eureka Seven"! I was in charge of the monitor design. It's a mysterious work that feels both modern and classical despite being a science fiction work, and I think that under Director Kyoda's guidance, we were able to create a unique and interesting design. Thank you very much!

20 years! I've gotten older... No, I should say it's a nostalgic experience (laughs). I wasn't involved in every installment of the series, but I feel like I've tried a variety of different things at each stage. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to everyone.

It's been 20 years already!? It was the first TV series I worked on as a designer, an original work, a robot anime, and it had a total of 50 episodes. I packed it with all sorts of ideas in my youthful gusto, and I was allowed to draw the setting for Okamochi, design the DJ guy, adopt the name Compact Drive, and design the final form of Nirvash, so it's a fun memory.

Congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Eureka Seven! I was in charge of designing the Tower State Federation's warships, the Shiratori, the base, and so on. It was my first time working on a TV anime, but I was able to complete the year while learning a lot from Director Kyoda, Izubuchi-san, Takehan-san, and my seniors. I still treasure the experience I gained.

It's been 20 years since "Eureka" was released. That means the child who was born is now 20 years old! It feels like it happened only recently, but maybe that's because I'm getting older. Thanks to Director Kyoda and all the staff for your hard work! ...But I know I'm saying this now. I have fond memories of being able to help out, however small my contribution, with a work made by young people who were just starting out. They're now veterans. I'm so happy to see them all doing so well. And the fact that "Eureka" has endured so long is precisely because of the passion and dedication of those young people back then. It will continue to be loved by everyone, and will celebrate its 30th anniversary once again. I believe "Eureka" is that kind of work. I hope that "RahXephon," where I first encountered Kyoda, is like that too, but that's just an unnecessary aside (lol). To celebrate the 20th anniversary, I'll feel like Archimedes and watch "Eureka!!"

I still remember the shock I felt at the time. A lone LFO in the twilight sky. The story begins with a conversation between Stoner and Matthew, and their boring days are transformed. It's about to begin... I left the preview with a mixture of excitement and anticipation. Congratulations on your 20th anniversary!
