In the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "The Royal Family" (Sundays at 9pm) starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, an "important character" played by Ren Meguro of the popular group Snow Man will finally appear in the fourth episode (broadcast on November 2nd). Various opinions have been raised on social media about the identity of this "important character," but when a preview aired after the end of episode 3 showed the character played by Meguro and Kurisu Eiji (Tsumabuki) passing each other in what appears to be a hospital, new theories arose from viewers.
◇The following contains spoilers
In the first episode, Meguro's character appeared in a photo taken with Kanako (Wakana Matsumoto), Kurisu, and a racehorse. After the caption "2030," Meguro's narration continued, "August 7, 2011. He later spoke about this day as follows: 'Before I knew it, I had started running. I couldn't help but start running. If I reached out, I was sure I could reach a brand new dream. That's what I felt. At that time...'"
The preview for episode 4 on the official website shows the character played by Meguro passing by Kurisu, as well as a scene where he picks up a handkerchief and hands it to someone, saying "I dropped it," and another scene where he looks as if he has just noticed something.
On social media, people are talking, with comments such as, "They pass each other in a hospital! Is someone sick?", "It's a hospital, right? What role is Ren Meguro playing? Is he unwell?", "Is Ren Meguro... a doctor?", "The background is a hospital. Is it just a regular hospital, or a veterinarian?", "Is he a former famous knight!? Or a trainer?", "I thought Meme would be (Kanako's son) Shohei grown up, but is that wrong?", "Meme appears in a hospital... it's bothering me. President Sanno seems somehow fragile and it's making me uneasy", "After watching the trailer, I Ren Meguro is the illegitimate child of President Sanno (Kozo, played by Koichi Sato)", and "Could he actually be on the enemy side? Is he actually Shiina's (Sawamura Kazuki) son?"
The story is based on the novel of the same name by Kazuma Hayami. Kurisu admired her father, who was a tax accountant, and followed in his footsteps, but she experienced setbacks and lost hope. However, her life takes a major turn when she meets Kozo Sanno, a horse owner.
