The seventh episode of the drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), starring actor Saito Takumi, will be broadcast on August 19th. This episode will be the "final chapter."
Masamune (Saito) and Rin (Yuno Nagao) gain the support of medical doctor Mizuhara (Uchida Yuki) and lawyer Yamazaki (Tatsuya Fukazawa) and succeed in capturing Kevin Fukuzumi (Suzuki Kosuke), the head of the Japanese branch of investment company Z Capitals, who is trying to get his hands on Rin.
Masamune also secretly asks for the cooperation of detective Tsukasa Sunouchi (Yōsuke Eguchi) and succeeds in arresting Samezu (Shin Eiji). Masamune and Rin finally head to the surgery for Masamune's daughter, Mei (Riho Kusaka).
As promised to Sunouchi, Masamune was supposed to turn himself in and put an end to the incident after Mei's surgery, leaving Rin in Yamazaki's care. However, perhaps due to pressure from Z Capitals on the police higher-ups, Samezu and the others were released.
Just before arriving at the hospital, Rin is kidnapped again by Fukuzumi and Samezu, and Yamazaki is in dire straits. Meanwhile, Sunouchi's investigation uncovers a shocking secret about Masamune's past, who has a criminal record for murder.
The original work is a 2023 Korean drama of the same name that became a hot topic. It is a mystery story about Shinjo Masamune, who becomes a kidnapper to raise money for his daughter's heart disease surgery, and Nanase Rin, a genius girl with amnesia whose parents were murdered, who evades the pursuit of mysterious men as they uncover the truth behind the murder.
