The second episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " The 19th medical record " starring Jun Matsumoto (Sunday 9pm) will be broadcast on July 27th.
In the previous episode... Momo Kuroiwa (played by Riisa Naka) was at her wit's end, unable to understand the cause of the pain she was feeling all over her body. "It really does hurt. But people doubt it, saying it's an illusion, that it's all in your head. I even think there's something wrong with me. I'm really scared... No one believes me."
Tokushige Akira (Matsumoto), a general practitioner, tells Momo, "Your pain is real." When Momo is examined, no abnormalities are found, but Tokushige tells Momo, "The fact that all tests show no abnormalities allows for one diagnosis: fibromyalgia. The tricky thing about this disease is that no abnormalities are found even when the area where the pain is felt is examined." Momo cried with joy, saying, "Finally, I can say that I have a disease. Finally, finally..."
In the second episode... Okazaki Saki (Kurokawa Anji), a boy with a congenital heart disease, is rushed to Uotora General Hospital.
Accompanying her was her older brother, Taku (Sugita Rairin). Pediatrician Arimatsu Shiori (Kimura Yoshino), who had been Saki's family doctor for the first 14 years of her life, desperately tried to treat her, but...
General practitioner Tokushige (Mr. Matsumoto) seems to be concerned about his brother Taku for some reason. At the conference, he was concerned about Saki's condition when it suddenly worsened, and he was also investigating Taku and Saki's father, Koji (Mr. Higashinesaku), which made the other doctors suspicious.
Arimatsu feels as if he is being probed for his shortcomings and expresses his discomfort.
The story is based on the manga "The 19th medical record Tokushige's Medical Interview" (Core Mix) by Katsuhito Fujiya. It depicts a general practitioner who lends a helping hand to patients' lifestyles. This is Matsumoto's first attempt at playing a doctor. The script was written by Aya Tsubota, who also worked on the "Kounodori" series (TBS).
