It has been announced that the second movie version of the anime "That Time That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime(Tensei That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime )", which was born from a popular light novel on the novel posting site " Shosetsuka ni Naro ", "That Time That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime The Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea", will be released on February 27, 2026. In the second movie version, Rimuru and his friends are invited by the Heavenly Empress Hermesia of the great elven nation and sorcerer dynasty Sarion to visit her resort island, where a new incident unfolds in the endless blue sea. A key visual featuring Rimuru, Gobta, the mysterious woman Yura, and the Heavenly Empress Hermesia has been released, along with the tagline "At the moment of awakening, a blue prayer connects feelings".

A Teaser trailer was also released on YouTube. Rimuru and his friends were supposed to enjoy a short vacation on a resort island, eating delicious food and shopping, but a mysterious woman calling herself Yura appears, and a suspicious dark shadow creeps up on them. The trailer shows Rimuru's powerful figure confronting something, with the narrator saying, "It looks like something terrible is going to happen this time too."

"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" is a light novel by Fuse, who is popular on "Shosetsuka ni Naro". It depicts a modern-day office worker who is reincarnated in another world and is active there. The comic book adaptation by Taiki Kawakami is being serialized in "Monthly Shonen Sirius" (Kodansha).

The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2018 to March 2019, the first part of the second season from January to March 2021, the second part from July to September 2021, and the third season from April to September 2024. A completely new movie version, " That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Guren no Kizuna Arc," with a story concept by Fuse, was released in November 2022.
