Ina Megumi's manga "Shogi no Watanabe-kun" graced the cover of the July issue of the serialized magazine "Bessatsu Shounen Magazine" (Kodansha), released on June Getsuku. The manga depicts the daily life of Ina's ex-husband, shogi player Watanabe Akira, and it also attracted attention when Ina announced her divorce from Watanabe in the manga in the March issue of the magazine, released in February. The cover features a picture of Watanabe in a suit, with the two characters for "divorce" written in Watanabe's own handwriting.
The center color illustration has the words "Anterior cruciate ligament rupture" written on it. The words were written by Watanabe.
The latest volume 8 of the comics, released on June Getsuku, depicts Watanabe's turbulent days, including divorce, serious injury, and hospitalization.
