The fourth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " Caster " (Sunday 9pm) starring Hiroshi Abe was broadcast on May 4th. Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjuro and the eldest daughter of the late Kobayashi Mao, Horikoshi Reika (Ichikawa Botan), appeared as Shindo (Abe)'s daughter, Sumire, and became a hot topic on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers
Sumire is a first year junior high school student. Due to a past incident, there is a big conflict between her and Shindo. When Sumire sees Shindo at her school, Kirio Girls' Junior High School, for an interview, she immediately calls him.
"Hello?" Shindo answered the phone, and Sumire coldly asked, "What are you doing?" When Shindo replied that he was at work, Sumire replied, "You mean work, broadcasting someone's misfortune in a condescending manner? Anyway, go home. I went through the effort of getting into a school where no one knows me. I'm divorced, so it's no use pretending to be a guardian now," and hung up the phone.
Afterwards, Sumire confronts Shindo at school. When Sumire shows a cold attitude and asks "What?", Shindo explains, "If you don't want to meet him, please answer the phone. I asked the teacher to be considerate because it seems he doesn't want people to know who his father is, so there's no need to worry." Sumire is polite to her father and asks, "So, what is it?"
On social media, comments such as, "Is Sumire Ichikawa Danjuro's eldest daughter, Horikoshi Reika? She has her dad's powerful eyes, but everything else about her is like her mom!", "It was amazing to see the young lady portraying the conflict between her and Hiroshi Abe, who played her father," "Reika's acting was great, it was so natural," "Reika is really beautiful," and "Botan is becoming more and more like her mother. She's got all the beauty of Mao," and more were posted, creating a buzz.
