The synopsis and stills from the third episode, which will air on May 8th, of the drama series " A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You " (Fuji TV, Thursdays at 10pm) starring Kyoko Yoshine, have been released.
Although they are awkward, newlywed couple Natsumi (Yoshine) and Takitaka (Honda Kyoya) are gradually growing closer. Takitaka returns home after two months. He becomes jealous when Natsumi tells him about her childhood friend Seta Juntaro (Komiya Rio), and resolves to meet her tonight. After taking a bath, the two meet in the bedroom. Takitaka reaches out to Natsumi, who is nervous.
The next day, the two of them take a walk around town. While Takita shows her around the shops and photo studios, Natsumi trips on a step and nearly falls. Takita quickly grabs Natsumi's arm and holds her hand. Blushing, the two walk hand in hand.
Natsumi hears that Takitaka has a secret place, a small river on top of a mountain where many fireflies can be seen in early summer. She clasps Takitaka's hand with both of hers and tells him, "I want to make it a tradition for our family to go see the fireflies again next year and the year after."
Meanwhile, Takimasa is asked by his superior officer to make a suit, so he and Natsumi go to the tailor for the first time. The two are nervous, but a little boy appears before them.
The story is based on the manga of the same name by Nishika Hachi, which is currently being serialized on Kodansha's manga app Comic Days. It depicts the love story that begins in 1936, when Natsumi, who was proposed to and married on "zero days of dating," and Imperial Navy lieutenant Takitaka Ebata begin their married life together.
