It has been announced that Komatsuza's production of "Frois - His Death, Not Written Down", which was performed in March, will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW this summer.
Based on the work of Frois, whose legacy was written by Hisashi Inoue in his critical biography "My Friend Frois," this is a new work by the Komatsuza theater company that depicts the foolishness and loveliness of human beings. The script was written by Ikue Nagata, who studied under Inoue, and the direction was by Tamiya Kuriyama.
Shunsuke Kazama plays Sogoro, an ambitious man who rises from a fisherman to a wealthy merchant, and Kawadoko Asuka plays Kaya, a woman who meets Frois and awakens to faith. Other cast members include Saizawa Yasuki, Masuko Wabune, and Kubo Shukichi.
