It has been revealed that actor Chihiro Kato will star in the vertical short drama "Workplace Gambler," which will be distributed on the short drama app "UniReel" from April 30. Kato, who was active as "Cent Chihiro Chichi" in "BiSH," which disbanded in 2023, has been active as an actor under the name "Chihiro Kato" since the disbandment, and this will be her first lead role in a serial drama.
The story depicts the quiet and serious General Affairs Department employee Kanako Asanuma, played by Kato, as she engages in psychological warfare in a "survival gambling battle" that suddenly begins, with employees risking their bonuses. There are 50 episodes in total, with each episode lasting from one to a few minutes.
Also appearing in the film were Yoshiro Sakuma, Ren Ishikawa, Haruki Nakagawa (Europe Kikaku), Yamagen from the comedy duo Nekonisuzu, and Udai Iwasaki from Kamomentaru. Additionally, a key visual was released that depicts the main cast as face cards from a deck of playing cards.
Kato commented, "I was very nervous to be entrusted with the lead role in my first drama series." He added, "I want you to pay attention to the shocking psychological battle that unfolds in the midst of 'gambling' and the changes in my human side. The unique characters will make you laugh and get your heart racing. I hope you enjoy gambling with me!"
Ishikawa, who plays the role of a "toxic woman" employee who only thinks of herself, said, "I played the role of a nasty woman who looks down on others, so it might irritate you, but that's the point I want you to pay attention to! I hope you enjoy the clash of desires that is brought to light through gambling."

When Kanako Asanuma (Kato) of the General Affairs Department confides in Wolf (Sakuma), a cleaner at the same company, that she wants to take her seriously ill father on a final trip with her next bonus, suddenly, the company president Masayoshi Hashimoto (Iwasaki), who believes that only those who have survived the competition are needed in the company, announces, "We are about to start the game." A gambling battle begins in which all employees are forced to participate, with bonuses at stake, and if the bonus balance reaches "0," the employee is forced to leave the company. The workplace becomes a battlefield of beasts blinded by the prospect of winning the other employee's bonus. Kanako, who has a quiet personality, is hesitant, but then her mother tells her that if she has a large amount of money, her father's illness may be cured.
