The final episode of the Sunday Theatre drama " Mikami Sensei " (TBS, Sunday 9pm) starring Tori Matsuzaka was broadcast on March 23rd. Viewers praised Mikami (Matsuzaka) and Makino ( Masaki Okada) as "the best buddy".

Six years ago, Makino lost his subordinate Takami. "I killed him," Makino confesses. Mikami tells him, "You know, that regret will probably last the rest of your life. It's easy to say it wasn't your fault, but even if you do, it'll only make you feel sad. I think you'll be in more pain than you realize right now for the rest of your life. I'll support you. Please stay alive."

When Makino asked, "Eh? Is that the kind of relationship you and I have?", Mikami replied, "You idiot. That's what's going to happen from now on."

Makino, who told Tominaga (Aju Makita) about that episode, said, "If it weren't for Mikami, I wouldn't be here now." He also revealed that Mikami was on the ground and Makino was gathering evidence at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in order to change education in Japan.

In the first episode, Makino was shown watching Mikami, who had been ordered to transfer to Rintoku Gakuin and become a bureaucrat teacher, leave the Ministry of Education with a stern look on his face. The final episode continued the scene. Seeing Mikami leaving the office, Makino gave him a thumbs up and sent him a cheer sign. Mikami smiled at Makino.
