The box office revenue has exceeded 3.29 billion yen, making it a hit.
It was announced that cheering screenings of the film, where cheering is allowed, will be held in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya on March 28th. Social media posts about cheering screenings are encouraged to use the hashtag "#Gundam is telling you to cheer." A video of guidance by Shimba Tsuchiya, who plays Shuuji Ito, is currently available on the official Gundam YouTube channel, "Gundam Channel."
"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is also attracting attention as it is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which is responsible for the "Gundam" series, and khara, known for the "Evangelion" series. Ahead of the broadcast of the TV anime series, a pre-release theatrical version, which reconstructed some episodes, began screening on January 17th. The TV anime series will be broadcast on 30 Nippon TV affiliates every Tuesday at 12:29am from April 8th, and will be streamed on Prime Video from 1am on April 9th, the fastest in Japan.
