The 118th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi " starring Kanna Hashimoto (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 am and others) was broadcast on March 19th. In the episode, viewers reacted to the exchange between Yui's (Hashimoto) daughter Hana (Niitsu Chise) and Uta (Oshima Miyu), who is hospitalized for malnutrition.
In episode 117 (broadcast on March 18), Hana, who happened to be visiting the hospital to treat a leg injury, witnessed Uta walking unsteadily. Curious, she followed her and found Uta crouched in the corner of the hallway, looking like she was in pain. Hana tried to call for help, but Uta told her to wait, so the two hid in an out-of-the-way storage room. There, the two briefly introduced themselves to each other.
In episode 118, Hana worries, "Are you sure you're not going back to your hospital room?" but Uta replies, "I'll hide here and sneak out when night falls." Uta asks Hana, who is on crutches, "What happened to your leg?" Hana explains that she plays soccer, saying, "I hurt it during soccer practice," and shares her dream with sparkling eyes, "One day I'll represent Japan and play in the Olympics or the World Cup."
When Uta says she doesn't play any sports, Hana asks, "Is there anything you enjoy doing?" Uta answers, "Well, singing...maybe?" Hana replies, "So you'll be a singer in the future." Uta immediately replies, "That's impossible," and with a trembling voice, she says she has no place to live, no family, no money, and no reason to live.
On social media, people were saying things like, "They are two contrasting characters, like yin and yang," "Their circumstances are so different it's painful to watch," "Hana-chan is such a child of light...she's dazzling to Shi-chan," "From Shi's perspective, Hana is like a person from another world," and "I wonder what happened to Shi-chan, I want to help her."
